Journey
of Life
by
Frances O'Flynn
Where are those
years that were my life
Spent in willing service to love and pain
Are they now distant stars cast out in space
Or broken vessels filled in vain?
I set my course to tread a certain path
Along a constellation of projected thoughts
Intent on proving I could reach a future goal
That even lesser heroes could not grasp
Yet though at times I see no further gain
And all my faith seems driven underground
There is a certainty that holds out risen hope
And proves this journey worthy of the pain.
Where once there was a pendulum of doubt
That swung me with it's movement to and fro
Kind time has favoured me with loving grace
And taught me lessons I had need to know.
And now I see my progress as a gift of soul
Which leads me to another place and time
To contemplate what fullness lies ahead
And know the blessed peace that can be mine
